ERP Software in Dubai
A Dubai company rarely runs from one desk. Sales may be in Deira, the warehouse in Al Quoz or Jebel Ali, the finance team in Business Bay, and some customers are paid in dollars while the invoice still shows 5% VAT in dirhams. An ERP (enterprise resource planning) system keeps those pieces in one database so the numbers agree everywhere. Crafts Software builds and customizes ERP systems for Dubai businesses and installs and supports them until they are fully running.
What a Dubai ERP usually needs to do
- VAT-ready sales and purchases. Tax invoices with the elements required by the UAE VAT rules, credit notes, zero-rated and exempt supplies, and VAT reports that match your return. See our tax invoice checklist.
- Mainland and free zone together. Many groups hold a mainland licence and a free zone entity. The ERP should handle separate companies, inter-company transfers and consolidated reports without re-keying.
- Multi-currency. Invoices and supplier bills in USD, EUR, INR or CNY, with exchange differences posted automatically against the AED books.
- Stock across locations. Showroom, warehouse, van and consignment stock, with batch or serial numbers where needed.
- Arabic and English documents. Quotes, invoices, delivery notes and statements that print correctly in both languages.
- Roles and approvals. Who may discount, approve a purchase order or see margins, with an audit trail of changes.
Sectors we see most in Dubai
General trading and distribution need purchase orders, landed cost, customer credit limits and aged receivables. Real estate and facilities firms need contracts, post-dated cheques, service charges and maintenance jobs. Retail and F&B groups need POS connected to stock and accounts. Contractors and project companies need job costing, subcontractors and retention. Professional services need time, billing and recurring invoices.
Custom, ready-made or a mix
Starting from a proven ready-to-customize system is often faster and cheaper than a blank page. We then change workflows, screens, reports and integrations to fit your business, and you receive the source code. When your process is unusual, we build the module you need as custom ERP development. If you are comparing options, read how to choose an ERP for a UAE SME and use the implementation checklist.
How the project runs
- Discovery: we map how quotes, orders, stock and invoices flow today and list what must change.
- Fit and plan: we agree which parts come from an existing system and which are built new, with a clear scope.
- Data migration: customers, items, opening balances and open invoices are cleaned and loaded.
- Training and go-live: your staff learn on their own data, and we support the first month closely.
What to ask any ERP supplier in Dubai
- Can I see the system working with my own sample invoices, not a demo dataset?
- Who owns the source code and the database, and can I export everything?
- What does support cost after go-live, and what is included?
- Which parts are standard and which will be custom, in writing?
- How do you handle updates when the VAT or corporate tax rules change?
A short, honest answer to each of these tells you more than a long feature list. See also how an ERP that does not scale hides costs and our guide to generic vs industry-specific ERP.
Frequently asked questions
Can the ERP produce VAT returns for the Federal Tax Authority?
It produces the VAT reports and figures you need to complete your return, with supporting invoice lists. Filing itself is done by you or your accountant on the FTA portal.
Can we keep using our current accounting package?
Sometimes. If it is working, we can connect to it instead of replacing it. We will tell you honestly when a connection is enough.
How long does an ERP project take?
A focused system for one company often takes a few weeks to a few months, depending on modules and data. We give a plan after discovery rather than a guess.
