Email remains one of the best-paying marketing channels because you own the list. In the UAE it works especially well for B2B follow-up, retail offers, real estate updates, hospitality and software renewals. It only works if people want your emails and they reach the inbox.
1. Build a list people agreed to join
- Offer a reason to subscribe: a guide, a checklist, a discount, early access.
- Use a clear sign-up sentence that says what you will send and how often.
- Record when, where and how each person subscribed.
- Never buy lists. They damage your reputation and break trust.
Handle personal data lawfully and respect opt-outs. See our data protection checklist.
2. Authenticate your domain
Inbox providers check whether you are allowed to send from your domain. Set up three records with your hosting or DNS provider:
- SPF lists the servers allowed to send for you.
- DKIM signs each message so it cannot be altered.
- DMARC tells receivers what to do with mail that fails, and sends you reports.
Send from your own domain, not a free webmail address, and warm up volume gradually.
3. Write for UAE readers
- Subject lines: short, specific and honest. Avoid all capitals and spammy words.
- Language: English, Arabic or both. Store each contact’s preferred language and send accordingly. Right-to-left Arabic needs proper layout; see bilingual software.
- One goal per email: one main button, such as “Book a demo” or “Get the checklist”.
- Mobile first: most emails are opened on phones.
- Include WhatsApp as a reply option if your customers prefer it.
4. Send useful sequences
- Welcome series: three emails over a week that introduce you and your best content.
- Lead nurture: follow up after an enquiry with answers, case studies and an invitation to talk.
- Reminders: renewals, appointments, invoices and abandoned carts.
- Re-engagement: a polite last email to inactive subscribers, then remove them.
5. Time it
Test send times with your own audience. B2B often performs on weekday mornings, and retail may do better in the evening. Avoid sending offers during prayer times or when a major holiday message would feel tone-deaf, and plan around Ramadan and Eid; see our UAE business calendar.
6. Measure what matters
- Delivery and spam complaint rate, which protect your sender reputation.
- Opens (use as a rough guide) and clicks.
- Replies, bookings, sales and revenue per email, tracked with UTM tags and your CRM.
- Unsubscribes, a healthy signal when low and steady.
A short checklist before you press send
- The sender name and reply address are real and monitored.
- The subject matches what is inside.
- Links are tracked with UTM tags and all of them work.
- The unsubscribe link is visible and working.
- You previewed it on a phone, in English and in Arabic.
